Brassica oleracea var. botrytis 'Snow Crown'

  • An early and dependable variety, Cauliflower 'Snow Crown' is a garden favorite.
  • Supply ample moisture and fertilizer throughout the season to prevent purple discoloring on the underside of the heads.
  • Cauliflower 'Snow Crown' is fairly frost tolerant (25-32F) and produces good-quality, medium sized heads.

Interesting Notes:

To keep the white color of the head from becoming discolored by the sun (blanching), gather the top leaves and tie together with a rubber band or garden twine over the head.
Harvest Cauliflower 'Snow Crown' when the head has reached a desirable size but before the curd begins to loosen.
