Meet Our Team

Candy is an intuitive visionary skilled in the art of creating container gardens and unusual plant design. Her sound instincts, creativity, and steady hand on the business side of Peace Tree have helped the company remain strong. Prior to Peace Tree, Candy managed A Hidden Garden, a retail plant store in Philadelphia, worked as a plant breeder at Cornell University, as a floral designer, and as an interior plantscaper in Chicago.



Lloyd is a technology guru and advocate for small growers, among the first to successfully invest in sophisticated environmental control systems. Lloyd graduated summa cum laude from Delaware Valley College of Science & Agriculture in 1979 and attended Cornell University Graduate School in Floriculture. Prior to Peace Tree, he was Assistant to the President for Special Projects for Ball Seed. He conducts seminars and makes presentations at growing industry conferences and conventions and has contributed to many publications.



Alex graduated from Cornell University and brought a scientific focus and passion for sustainable production. In addition to managing the growing team, Alex is internationally known for Peace Tree’s innovative and successful Biocontrol methods.



Cynthia has a vast knowledge of plant material and a wonderful eye for combinations. She manages our shipping needs, handles broker relations, and is part of the sales team. She also sings like a nightingale…



Gray is a young professional horticulturist from UGA, focused on social, environmental, and economic sustainability. He helps grow the plants, particularly the young ones.






Julia currently works as part of the Peace Tree team in production, shipping, and sales. She is a 2018 Longwood Fellow and an alumni of the Univ. of MD Institute of Applied Agriculture and Univ. of ME Agricultural & Resource Economics. Julia grows many Peace Tree plants in her outdoor home garden and indoor collection.









Mike came to Peace Tree Farm in 2018.






Photographed with her dog Omar Steph came to Peace Tree Farm in February 2022. She was a manager for a local pet store for 13 years and has more side jobs than one person can imagine. She loves animals and her sense of humor keeps us all smiling.
